Fun Tricks to Teach Your Puppy
After your puppy has learned the basics of dog training, you can now turn your practice sessions into fun. For instance, put your puppy in a Sit-Remain position, back off a foot or two, show him a toy and throw it to him. Try to prevent going for a catch that needs a super hero leap into the air. The idea is to have him truly catch it!
Put your puppy in a Sit-Stay position and let him watch you hide the toy under the edge of a couch. Make certain that he stays in this position for a moment a lot more, maybe as you wonder out loud “Where is Teddy?” Then give him the cue, “Okay – discover Teddy!” If he does not comprehend what to do, aid him search for it, but let him discover where it is.
Stepping back to the “as” routine, you can teach your dog any trick that he can execute by himself just by giving that action a command. Puppies like to roll over onto their backs and squirm, specifically on a comfy thick rug! Rotate this back-scratching into a trick by catching Rex as he starts and say, “Rex, roll over. Great boy.”
As your dog develops and grows, he’ll recognize your language much more often and you’ll be able to use words that have great influence as tricks. For instance, rather than saying “roll over,” say, “Rex, can you do your rollover exercises?” to bring on a squirming, leg-flailing routine that is worthy of praise. For the beginning, maintain it simple as possible.
When Rex has lastly gotten to the stage of getting able to hold a nonetheless Sit-Stay, you can add a new trick. Balance a dog biscuit on best of his nose as basically say, “On trust.” If your dog is wiggling his head you may have to hold his head still the 1st couple of tries. When Rex has held it for a second, give him the release signal (“Okay” or “Take it”) as you softly, yet rapidly, lift his chin up, which will throw the biscuit into the air so he can truly catch the biscuit.
Children and pups enjoy to play hide & seek, but any person can get in on the game. Puppies seek by scent, so at the beginning kneel down to be closer your dog’s level. Place Rex in a Sit-Remain and let him see you hide, kneel down and then call out “Okay!” Make certain he finds you even if it means you should call out to Rex a few times. Make a huge deal of it when he does discover you – and then play the game over once more. Just don’t make it a lot more hard until he is able to find you appropriate away at the first level.
Reward your puppy often with a little treat and make locating you the most exhilarating part of the game. This means you will advance slowly from hiding where he can see you, to hiding in one more section of the house and sooner or later the back of a wardrobe closet where your scent will be hidden. Bear in mind, your dog will not be interested in playing if it isn’t fun, so make specific he does find you each and every time you play.
Shaking hands with your dog is fun and easy to teach. Simply touch the toes and many dogs will raise that paw. Lift it with ease and say, “Shake hands” or “Give me a paw” as he gives it to you. When that has been achieved, you can create this into a paw raised greater, and with out shaking it, say, “Wave goodbye!” This is great for later on a friendly dog handshake is fine for the moment. The reverse of “Off for jumping up is two paws raised in a jump-up welcome, only on a command of “High-5!”

three Tricks to Teach Your Dog
Training your dog to do a trick is a matter of repetition and working with him till it is second nature. For dogs it’s no different than youngsters or possibly us as adults.
We do points we are incentivized to do and dogs do factors they’re inspired to do also. Here are one or two tricks you can teach your dog to do on your command.
1. Initial off dogs are quick learners. They like to delight. To commence teach them to do one thing straightforward like the effortless way to sit. To try this get a little treat and have it plain in your hand. Lift it up above his nose and say “sit.” if he is standing and makes an attempt to get the treat don’t give it to him. Do it once more till he sits. Then give him the treat and praise him. Soon after a quantity of times he is going to do it appropriate each time. Another way to teach a dog to sit on command is each and every each and every time you see that your dog is going to sit, let him know to ‘sit!’ and praise him and give him a treat when he does it.
This can take a small longer, but he is going to find out from it also. Another quick trick to educate your dog and is to educate him to shake hands. Call his name as a command. When he is taking a appear at you delicately grab his paw and say shake. Then praise him and give him his treat. Repeat this a couple of times till he does it quickly without having you grabbing his paw.
Three. If your dog likes to play or carry things in his mouth you can swiftly teach him to bring. Just be cautious as when he learns this he will not leave you alone all day. Get a ball that nicely will slot in his mouth. Take it one or two steps from where you are and give the command. “Fetch” of “Get”, and then wait for him to come to the ball. When he locations it in his mouth praise him and give him a treat. Now try tossing the ball and enlightening him to bring. When he does that once more praise him and give him a treat. Ultimately you can teach him to get the ball and bring it to you prior to he gets his treat. For some dogs this is a little harder, but once again right after they understand it mostly reward them for performing precisely what you command them. Usually keep in mind not to get irritated or scold when you are training your dog as he’s just learning what you are attempting to teach him. Dogs discover at various speeds.

Tricks for dogs
There are numerous tricks that you can teach a dog. 1 of these very popular tricks would be to teach your dog to rollover. This trick would entail making your pet go round and round on the ground which would be quite dizzy for the pet that is doing it.
There are a variety of methods that this can be completed but I would just go via two of them with you. The important selection would be simplifying the complete factor at once hoping that the dog would catch on speedily. Regrettably, numerous pets have this problem and this is where the next choice would come into play where the physical exercise is broken up into smaller section and then combined later on.
So here we go. Firstly, you will be instructing your pet to lie on the ground. You ought to say “down” with the front and hind legs firmly on the floor. Dogs that do not respond promptly will require some support and so you need to gently push the part lower. You should then get your pet a treat as a reward for completing these tasks.
The next component is a mixture of two tricks. Firstly, you will make sure that the animal stays put which is frequently known as “playing dead.” You can accomplish this by having dog stomach and face flatly on the ground.
Thirdly, we will be producing the pet roll on from the front to the back. There are several terms that can be used and the most widespread are “roll or show the back.” Nevertheless, only one really should be used simply because you do not want to confuse the dog.
You should use your hands to initiate motion which the dog will discover eventually. Rub the belly of the dog or ‘pet’ it as a reward instead of just feeding it all the time as it completes the task.
Now that the pet was able to roll in one direction, it is time to do it for two or 3 times. The command to ‘roll’ must be repeated slowly so the canine will realize what needs to be accomplished.
When your dog can do this, it is excellent to have this done also on the other. Some individuals have mentioned that this is automatic already as soon as the 1st 3 actions have been carried out but the rate in which the dog learns tricks varies.
Another physical exercise that may possibly appear silly is lying on the ground and going via the motion in the hopes the dog will follow. Some owners have mentioned that this works even though others just do this for fun to see how it feels like becoming a dog.
If you are not effective on the 1st attempt, perhaps there is something wrong in how it was delivered. So attempt again. If the advice is not fruitful, it’s time to go pet store and purchase a book or instructional video.

Knowing the Rewards of Teaching Tricks
Why teach your dog to do tricks? After all, he’s not joining the circus anytime soon. The answer is easy: Most dogs will jump at the opportunity to perform for enjoyable, praise, treats . . . almost anything! Dogs are active by nature and really like to do stuff — just jiggle your car keys or utter the word W-A-L-K if you don’t believe me.
Tricks give your dog the opportunity to release his inner, audience-starved vaudevillian, expend pent-up power, and use his innate dog abilities — jumping, barking, sock-stealing — in positive techniques.A properly-trained dog also serves as an ambassador for us all. Whether you are just clowning around in your living room or putting on an act at a local fair, the work and time you devote to your dog shines via wherever you take him. Certain, your dog could by no means star in a commercial or show off his routines at the neighborhood Elks Club, but that does not rob you of 1 undeni-able truth: If you enjoy your dog, he’s a star. And the size of your star is not measured by how many men and women share your pride it’s measured by you.
When I listen to my buddies and clients talk about their dogs, I really feel the warmth in their hearts, and when I see the dog face-to-face, I already know that dog’s worth. You will be surprised at the new pals your dog wins over with basic tricks and fundamental great behavior
Watching your dog strut his stuff makes everyone feel a small bit happier. Dog-phobic kids lose some of their fear, busy people uncover a small time to watch, and total strangers share a smile. Those of us who adore dogs congratulate you on your efforts toward creating the world a a lot more dog-friendly place
The goal of tricks is to direct your dog off-leash, encouraging her to focus on your hand signals and verbal commands. If the believed of having your dog off-leash makes you nervous, take a deep breath. You do not have to unclip your dog before you’re prepared.
As you are working with your dog, believe of yourself as equal parts coach, teacher, parent, and buddy. Since several of the routines and adventures in this book will be new to your dog, you will require to sell him on why he wants to leap through hoops, bark to ten, and retrieve a tissue. If you approach these tasks with the right attitude (primarily fun, enjoyable, fun . . . plus rewards!), he’ll be eager to participate. Think about how you’d like to be treated when studying some thing new — and remember what my grandmother usually stated, “You attract a lot far more bees with honey than with salt.”To be an powerful teacher, you have to identify what thrills your dog. You can use food, toys, and attention to encourage your dog’s cooperation. For my treat-loving dogs, I schedule training around feeding times.
I do a lesson prior to breakfast, and because they’re hungry, the dogs are even spunkier. I end the lesson on a positive note and reward them with a yummy meal. The timing of rewards influences your dog’s understanding and works hand-in-paw with incentive training. If you want to teach your Chihuahua how to jump up and “dance” but you reward him after he has landed on the ground, you will actually be reinforcing not-jumping. Don’t forget your dog is not the only one who needs to discover new methods: Helping your dog master tricks swiftly and without having confusion demands you to learn a few tricks, too

Teach your Dog some Tricks in No time
Just before we went to school to discover, we are nurtured with examples and training, if you may possibly call it, by our parents or guardians perhaps. By way of these examples and training, we learn to be obedient and therefore we learn to do points on our own. Identical is true with Training your dog, it will all begin with Dog Obedience.
So what is Dog Obedience?
It is actually the first step in dog Training wherein you get to relate with your dog in establishing a foundation of mutual learning for each of you. You’ll be teaching him some tricks and commands and in turn, he’ll be teaching you the value of persistence and consistency, since you will be spending hours in training your dog.
There are in fact two typical kinds as to dog obedience training, and these two are the leash plus collar training and the other, the reward training. I’d like to describe the leash plus collar training as a physical training style, wherein you’ll be able to manage your dog utilizing the said tools. As for the reward training, it’s a psychological training style due to the fact you will be teaching your dog that performing commands and tricks comes with a reward, and in turn he’ll be able to relate those two.
Both kinds have its pros and cons, but surely it would be far better if you mix the two up to make it even a lot more powerful. For example, you could constantly reward your dog for a job nicely accomplished even if he’s on a leash. Following some time, your dog could even be controlled enough that you wouldn’t need to have to use a leash no more. Usually remember that tools such as the leash come and go, what’s critical is your dedication to teaching your dog.
Carried out with Obedience Training, step it up!
Now that you and your dog have built a foundation of continued studying from each and every other, reinforced by your dog’s obedience towards you, you can now begin teaching him commands and tricks as you like.
Although it’s a no-brainer that you want to commence on less complicated tricks then move up to much more complex ones, you may possibly opt to start the other way about. But this isn’t recommended though given that it is in the basic tricks and commands that the dog can use what he currently knows to breeze by means of the difficult tricks.

Train Your Dog To Dance with Clicker Training

Train Your Dog To Dance with Clicker Training
Musical canine freestyle is a enjoyable way to train your dog. I got began in training dogs when I got my first two Australian shepherds. I enjoyed teaching them fundamental obedience, but then I wanted to know what far more could I teach my smart dogs. Teaching simple obedience was easy and enjoyable and I wanted one thing a lot more advanced I could teach them at such a young age. I also necessary something I could teach from the comfort of our own residence. I believed about agility training, but my dogs necessary to be over the age of one to truly get into that and it needs a special field with unique equipment.
Then, I finally discovered musical canine freestyle. It combines the finest of obedience, agility and trick training and adds in some musical creativity and dance! My dogs loved it from the commence. Musical canine freestyle is a dog sport in which you do heelwork to music and add in all sorts of creative and fundamental tricks like sit, lay, spin, jumps, leg weaves, and circle around, and so on. The choreography of the routine is up to you to produce and has really couple of restrictions. You get to chose what moves work properly for you and your dog and pick music that compliments your dogs’ movement so it looks like he is dancing to the music.
Clicker training is the fastest and easiest way to train your dog to dance. Trainers have located they can teach their dogs in a matter of minutes and weeks what it used to take months and years to teach making use of clicker training techniques. Clicker training is a positive reward based training technique. When training your dog to dance by no means give any punishments or use negative reinforcement. You want your dog to appear and be pleased about his training time. Studying tricks and cool moves is usually an optional thing for your dog to do. Some moves and tricks may possibly be hard for him to do and could not be properly suited for your dog. Listen to your dog and if you think that one thing is not correct for him, move on to one thing else. Bear in mind many moves and tricks can tax your dog’s body so be sure they are age proper and stop when you are ahead. You don’t want your dog to be sore soon after training. It may well dampen his enthusiasm in the future.
When clicker training your dog to dance, use good rewards. Food works finest for most dogs. Use some thing that is truly smelly and tasty like real chicken, hot dogs, liver, turkey, and cheese. The treats require to be cut up into tiny bite size easy to swallow bits. It is best to use genuine food, for two main factors: for 1 it is soft and straightforward to swallow, the second is it is healthier, more affordable, and tastier than store bought dog treats. Don’t skimp on the treats either. Maintain the rewards coming to keep your dog engaged and to be giving him as considerably positive feedback for what he is performing as possible. For dogs not motivated by food rewards use what works for them. It may possibly be playing with their preferred toy such as a tug toy, squeaky toy or Frisbee. He might love working for your praise and attention alone. It is very good to have a assortment of foods and toys to keep the treat basket intriguing longer and keep your dog engaged longer.
The clicker training formula for training tricks is lure, mark, reward. We use the clicker to mark every single behavior we desire. You can also use a marker word such as “yes” to mark very good behaviors. I recommend employing the praise, pet, treat sequence of reward. By utilizing this reward sequence, we are being extremely rewarding for our dogs in the course of training and it is simpler to transition to praise and petting rewards in the future.
Your marker word wants to be a word you do not generally use except to mark desired behaviors. I use a marker word for behaviors and moves my dog already knows when we are practicing. He does not often obtain a treat right away in the course of these practices. My marker word is “yes”. My reward and praise word is “excellent”. I use “very good” as positive encouragement when training as well. Bear in mind to be happy and enthusiastic throughout dog training sessions. Your dog picks up on your power and feeds it back to you.
I use the clicker as my marker when training new skills or working to make moves much more precise. The benefit of a clicker is that it is not produced naturally in nature, so the dog is not already desensitized to it. It is a distinctive sound effortless to hear and recognize by your dog. We charge the clicker by clicking and treating a few times to get the dog’s attention and get him excited about the clicker. We do this by clicking and treating several times. Now, your dog is prepared to respond well to the clicker. Timing is crucial when clicker training in that you want to click on the precise behavior you want, if you are slow you may click when the behavior has passed and your dog thinks you are rewarding him for a different typically undesired behavior. Be sure to reward following every single click, even accidental ones. You do not want your dog thinking he has to make you click several times in order to get a treat.
As soon as you get a lot more advanced, you can train behaviors utilizing the shaping methods. With this strategy you click and reward for every behavior that is a closer approximation to the end behavior you desire. For example, if you are teaching your dog to bow, you may 1st click and treat for his head going down, then his head moving down further, then his body stretching back, then for a slight bow, etc.. until the dog is bowing in the correct position. With the shaping method, you are not luring the dog, but marking the dog for performing the behavior on his own and acquiring closer and closer to the end goal. This technique takes more patience and information about what successive approximations to go for when teaching new behaviors. Several trainers think using this strategy gets your dog thinking far more and results in an easier to train and much more solidly trained dog down the line. I personally use a combination of luring and shaping depending upon the behaviors.
Employing clicker training approaches, you will have your dog dancing in no time.

How to Play Dead Trick for you Dog

How to Play Dead Trick for you Dog
Copyright (c) 2011 Kat Drew
A enjoyable and effortless trick that you can teach your dog is the How to “play dead” trick. This is such a amazing trick, because it gets a actually great reaction out of men and women seeing your dog in action. Some people do not like the concept of playing dead so an alternative is to teach the dog “you are sleepy”
I will tell you appropriate off the bat that this trick will be considerably simpler if your dog knows the “down” command.
If you have utilized clicker training on your dog then you can take your clicker and your dog treats to get started. If your pup is not familiar with the clicker, then the treats will function just fine.
As with all of our training lessons we are going to keep them really brief. I like to do a number of 5 minute or less sessions a day. You want to keep your dogs attention and any longer than the 5-minute mark will be too long.
Okay, let’s get began with our step-by-step program for “playing dead”:
Make your dog sit or stand in front of you. Hold your dog’s preferred treat in the other hand. Command your dog to go into the “down” position. From the “down” position, use the treat to guide your dog over onto his side. Now it gets a little trickier. When you dog is lying on his side, drag the treat in front of his nose, and then drag your hand and treat back across his shoulders. You will see your dogs head moving to follow the treat. As soon as your dog begins to move his head to follow the treat, give your dog the treat. Follow steps 1-5, but this time hold off on the treat until your dog’s whole body rolls over onto his back.
You will discover that trainers disagree on the playing dead position. Some believe that it is the dog laying on his side and some like the dog on his back. I prefer the dog on his back, as it looks more dramatic and it is a fun trick soon after all. We want the full effect. You can play about with it and see which you prefer. If you only want your dog on his side, then omit step 6 entirely. (You can also use the dog on his side for another trick like sleeping)
It is now time to add the verbal cue words “play dead.” Follow actions 1-4 as stated. Just prior to step 5, say “play dead.” Begin to eliminate the click and treat slowly, as nicely as your hand movement over the shoulders. You want to train your dog to rely solely on the cue words “play dead.” You don’t want to eliminate them all at once, but a gradual phase out will be effective. If you want to get even far more advanced, you can add a hand signal to the trick. Some dog owners uncover this a bit too a lot, but other people adore the notion. Make a gun shape out of your hand and pretend to shoot your dog a split second just before you say your verbal cue. Some owners decide on to maintain the verbal cue “play dead” and some teach their dog one more cue “Bang!” Soon you will be able to phase out the verbal cue and rely solely on the hand signal. You may possibly want to add a release command to, so your dog knows when to flip back over and get up. Encourage him to lay there for a couple of moments. Then say, “Wake up!” or another command of your deciding on. Playing dead is a enjoyable trick for you and your dog. You will discover that some dogs like it so significantly that they will start off to play dead even when you do not use your verbal or hand cue.
